Steampunk Western character

So I didn't meet the deadline for that conceptart.og assignment. I'm too much of a perfectionist and I was slaving over the drawing board with this one pic. So here's the first character.

His name's Gunnar Malloy. Onetime apprentice and bodyguard to Professor Alouicious Winterbottom, one of the primary inventors of steam technology. After the tragic death of his mentor, Gunnar has taken on the mission of finding those responsible for Prof. Winterbottom's death and exacting cold, ruthless revenge. His travels have taken him to the furthest reaches of the known world. He has been lovingly given the nickname "Nine Lives" because of his uncanny ability to "come back from the dead", or survive nearly impossible perils.
